Metamorphosis: Realizing the Power of Transformation Within

A little over a year ago, I celebrated my 30th birthday. It was an all-weekend event that culminated with a party surrounded by family and friends. The theme: Metamorphosis.

While the celebration itself was lovely, this moment marked an important milestone and reflection point for me. Clothed in butterflies (literally), I basked in the essence of who I had become, someone unrecognizable from years before. The insecure, self-loathing, depressed girl I used to be had been replaced with a courageous, optimistic, expressive woman. The change I recognized was the result of several different transformations over several years.

A few weeks ago, I was a part of a beautiful event where the facilitator, Naeemah Jade, had everyone introduce themselves and state what makes them magical. At first I was stumped, and then it came to me: “I am the magic because I am a master of transformation.” That was my exact statement. From the smallest of things, like transitioning to natural hair in middle school (against social norms), to larger shifts, like completely changing career paths, I have learned that I not only thrive in but yearn for change.

My response to Naeemah Jade’s prompt has stuck with me, and I have come to realize that I am gearing up for another monumental shift. But this shift is different, because it is not a solo one. With this shift, I have been led to bring others along the journey. If my transformational periods have taught me anything, it is that we all have the power within us to change our realities. For most of us, that power to change lies dormant or blocked. However, the power is still accessible if we exert just a little bit of effort.

For this reason, I am challenging myself to step into my next evolution over a period of 60 days. If you would like to join me on the journey of transformation, check out my Metamorphosis in 60 challenge. I will be sharing the keys to succeeding in transformation and providing you with support along the way. Isn’t it time you opened yourself up to the possibilities of life and your greatest potential?
